Designs on the third floor at 78 Whitfield Street, Fitzrovia

Category: News

There is real momentum at 78 Whitfield Street, Fitzrovia where award winning design agency Made Thought have acquired the third floor.

This Derwent London building was effectively created with companies like Made Thought in mind. It started with the appointment of De Metz Forbes Knight who are cutting edge architects and have a real understanding of the creative occupier.

The building was comprehensively refurbished to provide usable open plan media style space benefiting from raised floor, exposed ceilings and new suspended lighting. The natural light to this and all floors is excellent with windows on three sides.

Approached via a new portal entrance to a staffed reception which has been designed to create a very clean, minimalist feel using polished concrete and lightly treated word finishes throughout. These finishes are complemented by warehouse style details throughout such as unpretentious light fittings, a simple but striking tenant name board and exposed services.

The building provides over 70 bicycle racks, showers and a large shared roof terrace providing stunning views over London.

Fitzrovia retains plenty of its historically Bohemian and creative flavour and 78 Whitfield Street is well located to take advantage of the excellent independent restaurants, pubs and cafes, private art galleries and shops such as the Charlotte Street Hotel, Dickie Fitz and Firedog.

In addition to the extensive range of shops and restaurants, there are also world famous corporate, creative, media and technology companies such as Estée Lauder and Arcadia who have chosen to locate within the characterful streets of Fitzrovia.

The imminent arrival of Facebook’s new UK headquarters will add further dynamism to an already vibrant community.
